The Role

We are supporting our client to find best person for their Community Support Worker role.

This is an exciting opportunity to support a teenage girl with cerebral palsy, learning disabilities and autism living in the community in her family home.

This position does involve personal care.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate core values that align with our clients to:

Requirements

Essential Requirements Include

  • Ability to work using own initiative
  • Excellent verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills
  • Reliable
  • Practical
  • Proactive
  • Love working with teenagers
  • Sensitive to and respectful of family needs and space
  • Ability to support therapy programmes consistently
  • Ability to recognise own limitations and request help from family and therapists as needed

Preferred Requirements Include

  • Experience of working with children with learning disabilities is not essential but an awareness of autism would be beneficial.
  • Experience of working with people who demonstrate behaviours that can be challenging to others
  • The ability to drive is not essential but would be a major advantage.
  • Willingness to undertake training in addition to mandatory training such as rebound training
  • A love of music. It would be a huge advantage if you play a musical instrument.
  • Enjoy swimming.
  • Enjoy being outdoors.
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Flexibility to work the hours agreed
  • Positive attitude
  • Caring disposition
  • Excellent sense of humour
